Announcing: Project Leeroy
Hey there, gaming aficionados and VR enthusiasts!
Guess what? We've been cooking up something super exciting in our little corner of Guildford, UK, and it's about time we spilled the beans. 🎮✨ We're beyond thrilled to give you a sneak peek into our very first game as a new studio, a VR party game called Leeroy designed to be a riotous multiplayer party game for up to 8 players.
“Tell me more!”, you say? Imagine diving headfirst into a whirlwind of microgames that are as wild and wacky as scrolling through your favourite meme feed. This is a VR experience that's all about getting you moving, laughing, and pondering existential questions (one of those might be an exaggeration).
Our game is a love letter to the chaotic beauty of internet culture, gaming nostalgia, and all those pop culture references you thought no one else remembered. From riding pixel art cats in irreverent space races to enjoying a cup of coffee in a burning diner with the chillest dog you've ever seen – we're putting it all in there.
Now, let's talk about us for a sec. We're GSI, a new studio in the Guildford video game development scene, but with some battle worn game devs within our ranks . Our founding team is a quirky mix of folks who've done time at Zynga, Google, and Lionhead Studios. Yeah, we've been around the block, and now we're channeling all that game-making mojo into something that's close to our hearts.
And what better time to drop this news than at the Guildford Games Festival 2024? It's part of the Steam event that shines a spotlight on the brilliant minds shaping the future of gaming right here in Guildford. We're proud to be among such talented company, showcasing what we believe is going to be your next party game obsession.
We're all hands on deck as we gear up for the launch later in 2024. There's still a ton to do, but believe us when we say it's shaping up to be something special. We're pouring our hearts (and an unhealthy amount of coffee) into making this game a reality, and we can't wait for you to play it.
